PURPOSE: A method for registering a position tracking service using an address allocation packet, and a method of position a tracking service using the same are provided to reduce the service cost by informing a police station of the connection position information of a lost terminal. CONSTITUTION: A terminal location tracking device(120) tracks the position of a user terminal(11) through a DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) packet and a database of an access network management server(130). The DHCP packet is transmitted form the user terminal to the DHCP server(110), and the terminal location tracking device is interworked with a high-speed Internet access network(100), the DHCP server and the access network management server. The terminal location tracking device searches the port information of an L2 switch(101) for searching the access address accurately.
