In an elevator device, an emergency stop device performs emergency stop of a car in response to an operating signal. A slip monitoring device calculates a slip extent value that is a value associated with a slip extent of a suspension body with respect to a drive sheave based on signals from first and second speed detectors. Moreover, the slip monitoring device stops the car at a prescribed floor by a winding machine when the slip extent value exceeds a first threshold while operates the emergency stop device according to an operating signal when the slip extent value exceeds a second threshold.
