CONSTITUTION: An antiviral composition contains a flavonoid compound of chemical formula 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. In chemical formula 1, R1, R2, R3, and R4 are H or OH. The flavonoid compound is denoted by chemical formula 1a. The flavonoid compound is isolated from Lagerstroemmia speciosa Pers extract.
