PURPOSE: A display substrate and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve an electrical characteristic of a drive transistor by using a drive active pattern including a metal oxide. CONSTITUTION: A switching transistor(Qs) is electrically connected to a gate line and a data line. The switching transistor comprises a switching active pattern(AP1). The switching active pattern has the first pattern and the second pattern. The first pattern comprises a metal oxide. The second pattern comprises amorphous silicon. A drive transistor(Qd) is electrically connected to a drive voltage line and the switching transistor. The drive transistor comprises a drive active pattern(AP2).
