<p>PURPOSE: An apparatus for inputting a character and a method thereof are provided to make convenience in inputting a character in a keypad. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen unit(130) displays a plurality of buttons. A phoneme assigning unit(120) assigns a consonant buttons of the diagonal direction among a plurality of buttons. The phoneme assigning unit assigns a vowel to buttons near the selected consonant if one is selected among the assigned consonants. The phoneme assigning unit assigns a consonant group to at least one of buttons of the diagonal direction.</p> |
