PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for compositing an image using the face recognition of a broadcasting program are provided to automatically synthesize an image of a viewer in recognized face after an image of the broadcasting program or face recognition of a still image, thereby inducing interest of the viewer. CONSTITUTION: A face recognition unit(112) recognizes a face of individual in a frame of video data. The face recognition unit determines an area of recognized first face. The face recognition unit matches a recognized second face area in the recognized first face area after face recognition of inputted face image. A control unit(106) synthesizes the recognized face in the face image after removal of an image of the recognized first face area. |
