PURPOSE: An optical disc drive and a record policy decision method thereof are provided to accurately decide the optimal record policy by deciding the optimal pulse width of two target policy parameters of which record quality is best on the 2D matrix. CONSTITUTION: A record policy decision method of an optical disc drive comprises the following steps. While combining at least two of the parameters of the pulse width system and the power system and changing them on the 2D matrix, the record quality is evaluated. Based on the evaluation result of the record quality, The parameters of the pulse width system and the power system showing a specific record quality are decided as policy parameters(180). The parameters define the multi-pulse for recording.
