BACKLIGHT UNIT AND DRIVING METHOD THE SAME

PURPOSE: A backlight unit capable of driving lamps is provided to improve the reliability of the local driving by preventing the supply of the predetermined voltage in each section by an electric discharge prevention electrode. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of lamp driving PCB(Printed Circuit Board)(160) is respectively arranged in the lower part of a plurality of lamps. The lamps are driven according to a plurality of sections of a length direction. High voltage external electrodes are installed at each section. The first and the second base-voltage external electrodes are arranged on both sided of the high voltage outer electrode at a constant interval. A plurality of switch units supplies alternating current signal by high voltage external electrodes.
