BADNESS INSULATOR SEARCH DEVICE AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A fault insulator discriminator and a method thereof are provided to determine the insulation damaged crack by comparing the value of the leakage current of the wet state with the value of the leakage current of dehydrated state. CONSTITUTION: A transformer(2) changes power source(1) supplying power into 100kV at maximum. An insulator(6) is connected to the output terminal of the transformer. A CT(Current Transformer) sensor(3) measures the leakage current applied in the insulator. An oscilloscope(4) analyzes the leakage current detected in the CT sensor. A computer(5) analyzes the result by receiving the waveform information of the oscilloscope. A fog chamber controls the temperature and the humidity in the experiment environment by applying a voltage to the insulator. In order to measure the leakage current flowing into the insulator, the CT sensor is installed in the upper end grounded side of the insulator string.
