PURPOSE: A position tracking device and a method thereof are provided to reduce unnecessary power consumption by controlling the intensity and the radiation cycle of the ultrasonic wave. CONSTITUTION: An intensity decision unit(210) decides the intensity of the ultrasonic wave based on distance between a positioning device and an object. A radiation part(230) radiates the ultrasonic wave having such intensity. A sensor(240) senses the ultrasonic wave radiated as above. A location calculation unit(250) calculates the location of the object based on the sensing time information of the detection point of the ultrasonic wave.
