PURPOSE: A side air bag apparatus is provided to rapidly inflate an airbag without failure by leading the airbag with a guide. CONSTITUTION: A side air bag apparatus comprises an inflator(20), an airbag(30), a guide(50), and a medium(40). The airbag is inflated with gas pressure from the inflator. One end of the guide is connected to the airbag so that the guide leads the inflating motion of the airbag. The medium provides a driving force to the other end of the guide using the gas pressure flowing in the inflator inside.
