PURPOSE: A rolling roll release device is provided to prevent damage to the peripheral devices and workers due to the vibration of a hook by stably securing the hook in a drum. CONSTITUTION: A rolling roll release device comprises a drum(20) for winding the wire of a crane around the screw down shaft of a rolling mill. The drum is composed of first and second segments, each including a half-cylinder and a semicircular plate. The semicircular plates have mounting grooves which form a hexagonal hollow when the first and the second segment are engaged. The screw down shaft includes a hexagonal mounting part.
