LIGHT GENERATING DEVICE

摘要

PURPOSE: A light generating device is provided to improve optical characteristics by spatially controlling a wave function of an electronic and a hole and dispersing the strain due to lattice mismatch. CONSTITUTION: An active layer(103) comprises a quantum-well layer and a barrier. The quantum-well layer comprises a firs compound semiconductor and the barrier includes a second compound semiconductor. The quantum-well layer comprises sub quantum-well layers forming an energy band gap of a multi-step. An N-type contact layer(102) injects the electronics into the active layer. A P-contact layer(104) is faced with the N-type contact layer. The active layer having a hole therein is arranged at the edge of the P-contact layer and N-type contact layer.
