The device has an elongated frame (12) positioned above a flexible pipe. A clamping collar (20) is mounted on the frame and is locked around the pipe to avoid relative movement between the clamping collar and the pipe. A support unit (30) is connected to a longitudinal end portion (12A) of the frame, and is moved in translation with respect to the frame. A driving unit drives the support unit in translation, such that the support unit is supported on an upper face of a bent end portion of the pipe to bring back the end portion from an axis of a remaining part of the pipe. An independent claim is also included for a method for straightening a flexible pipe with an end portion bent upwards.
