Use of a glass substrate as a transparent wall of enclosure with temperature of at least 250[deg] C, is claimed, where a side of the substrate exposed to the atmosphere of the enclosure has a coating of cerium oxide free of any binder. Independent claims are included for: (1) the glass substrate having a light transmission in the visible range of at least 70% and a softness of at most 1.5%; (2) the enclosure wall comprising the glass substrate; and (3) manufacturing the glass substrate comprising filing a colloidal solution of cerium oxide followed by quenching heat or filing of a solution of a cerium oxide precursor followed by a heat treatment.
