PURPOSE: An active headrest apparatus for a vehicle and an actuator thereof is provided to eliminate harm caused by an impact suspension and to effectively protect the neck of passenger from a vehicle collision. CONSTITUTION: An actuator(100) of an active headrest apparatus for a vehicle comprises: a housing which is installed on a seat back frame with forming a guide groove(130); an actuating plate(120) which is elastically supported on the housing; a working piece(140) which includes a guide projection inserted into the guide groove and arranged in the bottom of the actuating plate; and an actuating wire(144) which interconnects the working piece and a mobile headrest module.
