TOUCH INPUT DEVICE OF PORTABLE TERMINAL AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A touch input device of a portable terminal and a driving method thereof are provided to perform an elaborate input task by preventing a change of touch sensing level according to personal characteristics on an electrostatic capacitive touch screen. CONSTITUTION: An electrostatic capacity generating unit(220) converts electrostatic energy formed on a touch screen. A contact unit(230) is connected to the electrostatic capacity generating unit and touches the surface of the touch screen. A button switch(260) is located between a power supply unit(240) and a controller(250) and connects or disconnects electrically to the power supply unit and the controller. The electrostatic capacity generating unit is an oscillator generating a fixed frequency. The contact unit includes a plurality of contact units which have different areas touched on the touch screen.
