PURPOSE: A firming agent for solidifying organic sludge is provided to reduce the generation of ammonia gas compared to an existing firming agent, and to minimize the production cycle of a covering material using the firming agent. CONSTITUTION: A firming agent for solidifying organic sludge is formed with one material selected from the group consisting of quicklime, by-plaster, purified water sludge, electric furnace oxidized slag, aluminum sulphate, or alunite. The purified water sludge is formed with particles with an average particle diameter less than 200 microns and water with the content less than 20wt%. The electric furnace oxidized slag contains Fe. 15~45wt% of firming agent is mixed with 100wt% of organic sludge. The solidified organic sludge is capable of using as a covering material.
