The grinder has a lateral opening formed in an elongated hollow case (10) and communicating with a reservoir (27). A filling opening is formed in the reservoir. An electric motor (17) and a battery holder (16) are provided inside the case. A switch (20) i.e. inclination switch, is electrically connected to contacts (40) of the holder for providing energy to the motor. A rotary grinding mechanism (56) is arranged in the lateral opening for dispensing the grinded condiment. A transmission unit is constituted of an epicyclic gear train (21) to transmit a motor torque to the mechanism.
