<p>The device has a powered axle and a chassis (C) permitting automatic braking of wheels (4) during crossing of static obstacles such as mechanical staircase and pedestrian conveyor. An articulated arm (1) is placed on the chassis. The wheels are pierced by conical slots and a groove to receive a guide pin (2) and a brake friction pad (3) integrated to the articulated arm.
