PURPOSE: In case an operation information signal is not generated from a main control unit during fixed time, a control method of a recording device and a recording device using the same are provided to guarantee reliability of the recording device by storing log information of hours from end timing of the fixed time to rebooting start timing of an entire system in a non-volatile memory. CONSTITUTION: If an operation information signal of a main control unit is not inputted during fixed time, a sub control unit receives time data of RTC(Real Time Clock)(S301,S307). The sub control unit is connected to a flash memory with control of a switching device(S309). If log information of a current state is generated, the sub control unit stores the log information in the flash memory(S311). In rebooting timing, the sub control unit reboots an entire system(S313).
