PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fiber with a porous surface, which is made porous on the fiber surface with hemispherical pores, having excellent functions owing to its porosity such as wiping effect, retention effect of dust and liquid, fixing effect of dyes or the like while maintaining properties intrinsic to the fiber, such as fiber strength, and a fiber sheet, and provide the fiber having the porous surface and the fiber sheet. SOLUTION: The fiber having the porous surface has fine pores solely on the surface of the fiber, the surface of which at least is composed mainly of a thermoplastic resin.
