<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a sheet on which writing is already done goes to waste, even when writing is done in ink, and, different from a conventional pen used simply as a pointing device, to fulfill a function by having an application function included in the device itself without depending on a function of a connected external apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The invention is a new electronic writing pad that as described in Claim 1 comprises a body having a flat surface on its upper top surface, a transparent writing sheet disposed on the flat surface, the reverse face of which is provided with a position information pattern, and an electronic pen for reading and recording the position information pattern and performing information processing by performing a writing operation on the front face of the writing sheet.
