PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method of a raised filter element type filtration device sufficiently filtering residual liquid, by which no cake is left on a bottom even if the filter element is independently raised up, and the bottom of a casing is set flat for increasing cleaning performance. SOLUTION: There is provided the cleaning method of the filtration device wherein a filter is configured by coating the surface of the filter element 7 raised on the bottom 6 of the casing 1 with a filter aid M, raw liquid U is fed into the casing 1 and filtrate F is taken out through the filter. The cleaning method includes a cleaning process wherein a cake C having the filter aid M as a principal component is discharged after filtering. In the cleaning process, cleaning liquid WL and pressurizing air A are released from the inside of the filter element 7 into the casing 1, the cake C is separated from the surface of the filter element 7, and the cake is discharged together with waste liquid WF from the inside of the casing 1 to the outside.
