<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder of documents etc. with an expandable space on the surface of a base by curbing the height of a projection from the surface of the base. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This binder includes on-off rings 31 and 32, supporting members 51 and 52 which support the rings 31 and 32, a cam 6 which regulates the position of the supporting members 51 and 52 by coming into contact with the supporting members 51 and 52 and opens/closes the rings 31 and 32 supported with the supporting members 51 and 52 by changing the position of the supporting members 51 and 52 following the rotation of the cam, a bearing part 25 which bears a camshaft 62 with the cam 6, and a lever 4 which is connected with the cam 6 and rotates the cam 6. The supporting members 51 and 52 have a recessed part 51e formed lower than the surroundings in part of the surface opposed to the cam 6 with which the cam 6 comes into contact.
