A baby carrier (11) consists of a sheet-like member (16) which is formed in an annular shape, as a whole. The sheet-like member (16) is folded back in the middle in the width direction into a double-layer structure to form an enclosed portion (12) capable of wrapping a baby. The baby carrier (11) also has a shoulder fitting portion (13) to be fit with the shoulder of the wearer of the baby carrier (11). In an upper part of the enclosed portion (12), an in-and-out permitting portion (14A) is formed through which the baby can be taken out from or put in into the enclosed portion (12). In an edge portion of the in-and-out permitting portion (14A), an in-and-out permitting edge portion (14) is formed, which is urged to gather to form an urged-to-gather portion (15) for holding the baby in the enclosed portion (12).
