<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel system and a method for positioning and passive alignment by possibly approaching at least one optical element to an electromagnetic radiation detector. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to a system and a method for performing passive alignment and positioning by making at least one optical element approach the electromagnetic radiation detector as much as possible. The system includes a support wedge (37) for positioning by making an optical element (35) approach a detector (21) with respect to a Z axis as much as possible, and a means for performing passive alignment concerning X and Y axes by utilizing the support wedge and/or a holding ball (36).
