PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the working efficiency of maintenance, such as the removal of stuck material in a gas-exhausting hole, and preheating treatment, by reducing the area occupied in a system for maintaining a vacuum-degassing tank. SOLUTION: The maintenance system is provided with a self-moving type stuck material removing device and a preheated gas exhausting device 50, which are movable to the maintenance position. The preheated gas-exhausting device 50 is movable to the maintenance position and provided with a running carrier 51 which can be retreated from the maintenance position. In the running carrier 51, a preheated gas-exhausting duct 54 is arranged. The preheated gas-exhausting duct 54 is movable in the shaft-center direction of a gas-exhausting hole 11 of the vacuum-degassing tank 10, with a cylinder 58. A setting gas-exhausting duct 70 is arranged near the maintenance position, and the setting gas-exhausting duct 70 is arranged so that a setting gas-exhausting side connecting part 62 in the preheated gas-exhausting duct 54 is connected to a connection end part 71 of the setting gas-exhausting duct 70, when a vacuum-degassing tank side connecting part 60 in the preheated gas-exhausting duct 54 is connected to the gas-exhausting hole 11.
