PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply apparatus which can prevent a failure of an external microphone, and an audio apparatus, a projector, and a power supply method. SOLUTION: There are provided: a power device 511 which is connected to a voice signal line 56 connected to a microphone jack 52 through a bias resistor 513, and supplies power to the external microphone 10 though the bias resistor 513, the voice signal line 56, and the microphone jack 52; a power changeover switch 512 which makes the power supply turned on or off from the power device 511 to the external microphone 10; an A-D converter 514 which detects a voltage level of the voice signal line 56 in a state that the power supply from the power device 511 is turned on; and a microcomputer 515 which controls the power changeover switch 512 according to the detection result of the A-D converter 514.
