The present invention relates to a composition for mitochondrial activation which contains a chito-oligosaccharide as an active constituent. The chito-oligosaccharide can increase the activity of mitochondrial enzymes and increase the amount of mitochondrial DNA, and thus can be suitably used as an active constituent in the composition for mitochondrial activation.
