STORAGE SYSTEM AND ENERGY SAVING METHOD THEREOF

A storage system and energy saving method thereof are disclosed. The storage system includes a control unit, one or more extended units and a power unit. The power unit outputs the main power and the standby power. The power of the former is more than that of the latter. The control unit issues the hibernation instruction to one or more extended units to make the system into the hibernation mode while the system needs sleeping, or issues the waking instruction to one or more extended units to make the system exit the hibernation mode while the system exits sleeping. The standby power supplies the power to part modules in the system while the system is in the hibernation mode. The main power supplies the power to all the modules in the system while the system exits the hibernation mode.
