PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a dental caries-detecting liquid hardly damaging the beautiful appearance of a repaired tooth even if the dyed part remains at the vicinity of a removed part when the dental caries-infected part is dyed and removed, and the resultant cavity is repaired by a resin repairing material. SOLUTION: The dental caries-detecting liquid used for dyeing the dental caries-infected part of the tooth for identifying the part contains water and/or a water-soluble solvent, and a sensitized coloring matter having the maximum absorption wavelength at 350-800 nm, and properties of being decolored by exhibiting sensitizing activity, preferably a coumarin-based dye.
