PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of detecting quickly and surely the presence of a liquid in a container, even when supplying the liquid by a long flow channel. SOLUTION: This liquid supply device or the like includes the flow channel (104) connected to the container for storing the liquid and for supplying the liquid (101), and an electrode pair (102) contacting with the liquid (101) in the flow channel (104), and impressed with a voltage between electrodes, wherein in a plurality of different portions along a flow in the flow channel (104), a plurality of different portions of the electrode pair (102) are made to contact with the liquid (101). The presence of the liquid in the container is detected based on a detection signal change along with a lapse time by the electrode pair (102), when supplying the liquid from the container to the flow channel (104).
