<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of suppressing the deterioration of granularity according to magnification and a halftone-dot line number to obtain a high-quality image, and to provide an image forming apparatus, a computer program, a recording medium, and an image processing method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A group of the same diffusion coefficient is selected when the halftone-dot line number inputted into a diffusion coefficient storage 226 is in a group of a rough quantity, or when the halftone-dot line number is in a group of a medium or dense quantity and the magnification is in a group of a medium or high quantity. Furthermore, a group of a different diffusion coefficient is selected for each of noted pixels when the halftone-dot line number inputted into the diffusion-coefficient storage 226 is in the group of the medium or dense quantity and the magnification is in the group of a low quantity. A diffusion error processor 224 calculates a diffusion error with respect to each of the pixels adjacent to the noted pixels but not subjected to quantization based on a quantization error inputted from a quantization error processor 223 and the group of the diffusion coefficient selected in the diffusion-coefficient storage 226.
