PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper excellent in fitness around the body and around legs and a method of efficiently manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The disposable diaper includes an absorbent body 1 provided with a liquid permeable surface sheet, a leak proof sheet and an absorbent body interposed between both sheets, and a pair of side parts 2 and 2 provided on both sides of the absorbent body. The side parts 2 include leg flexible parts 2a formed so as to be extended in a diaper longitudinal direction along both side edges of the absorbent body 1 and side flap flexible parts 2b formed at the back side part and abdominal side part of the diaper respectively so as to be extended outward in a diaper width direction more than the leg flexible part at a crotch part. All the leg flexible parts 2a and the side flap flexible parts 2b are composed of flexible sheets, while the leg flexible parts 2a are flexible in the diaper longitudinal direction and are not practically flexible in the diaper width direction, and the side flap flexible parts 2b are flexible in the diaper width direction and are not practically flexible in the diaper longitudinal direction.
