<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling fan unit that has high cooling efficiency and can be made compact and lightweight, and to provide an operation control method thereof. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The cooling fan unit which cools a plurality of electronic circuit boards electrically connected by a BWB 4 includes a fan unit housing 14 housing a blower fan, a control circuit board 15 disposed at a position of the fan unit housing 14 opposed to the BWB 4 parallel to the BWB 4 and controlling the operation of the blower fan, and a plug-in connector 16 disposed at a predetermined position of the control circuit board 15 so as to be fitted to a connector provided on the BWB 4 when the fan unit housing 14 is mounted at a cooling position for the electronic circuit board.
