PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing the frequency of stoppage for feeding toner during a non-image forming period for taking measures against lettering, ripping-up, and chipping-away of a cleaning blade. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a control means 200 for controlling next developer supply to the cleaning means 6 according to the temperature and humidity of the inside or periphery of the device and an average printing rate in image forming from the previous developer supply to the cleaning means 6 by a developer supply operation to the next developer supply to the cleaning means 6. The control means 200 is capable of supplying developer to the cleaning means 6 at timing at which developer is supplied simultaneously at a plurality of image forming stations Y, M, C, and Bk, and capable of independently setting the developer supply amount for each of the plurality of the image forming stations.
