PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a whole width (size in the axial direction of an axle shaft) in a differential lock device of a vehicle. SOLUTION: This differential lock device has a spline 52 separably engaging in the axial direction of the axle shaft between the outer periphery of a sleeve 50 and the inner periphery of a differential case 10, and a shift mechanism 54 for moving the sleeve 50 in the axial direction of the axle shaft for engaging/disengaging an outer peripheral spline 52a of the sleeve 50 with/from an inner peripheral spline 52b of the differential case 10. The shift mechanism 54 has a shift shaft 62 fitted to the outer periphery of a rod part 60a extending to the opposite side of a chamber 58 from a piston 60, a shift fork 64 joining a base end part to the outer periphery of the shift shaft 62 and engaging a tip part with the outer periphery of the sleeve 50, and a spring 66 for energizing the piston 60 to an initial position together with the shift shaft 62.
