It is possible to provide a recording device, a recording method, and a recording process program which can perform a new recording without deleting recorded content information even if the number of content information units has reached the upper limit while recording a broadcast program video and audio as content information in a unit of a title or the like. A recording process unit (19) records a video and an audio of a television broadcast program as one-title audio video data for one recording on a hard disc of HDD (13). A control unit (11) judges whether the number of titles has reached the upper limit. If yes, the control unit (11) controls the recording process unit (19) to perform recording by adding new program audio/video data as a new chapter in any one of the recorded titles.
