PURPOSE: An auto light system and an operating method thereof are provided to operate the auto light at a time with constant external brightness regardless of a vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle speed sensor(12) senses a vehicle speed. An auto light sensor(11) outputs a sensing voltage value according to the brightness around the vehicle. A critical voltage value graph storage unit(13) stores an operational critical voltage value of the auto light sensor according to the vehicle speed when the auto light is turned on. A BCM(Body Control Module)(10) compares the current sensing voltage value with the operational critical voltage value corresponding to the current vehicle speed.
