<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time necessary for initialization by executing the initializations of devices concerning to the formation of images by combining a plurality of processing means within the ranges of a limiting condition in an image forming system including a plurality of the processing means concerning to the formation of images. <P>SOLUTION: The controlling of the combination of devices to be initialized is performed within the range being less than the allowable power condition. For example, the initialization D of one device and the initialization B of another device are simultaneously performed under the condition that the sum of the consumed powers for both the initializations is less than the power condition. Further, when the initialization D ends, an initialization A, the total consumed power of which is less than the power condition under the condition that its initialization is performed simultaneously with the initialization B, is selected.
