PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote starting device preventing the temperature of exhaust gas from being too high or harmful gas around a vehicle from being too much when starting an engine through remote operation. SOLUTION: The remote starting device 11 includes a starting means for starting the engine of the vehicle through remote operation in response to an engine starting command from a portable transmitter 21. The device further includes a measuring means for measuring a cumulative operating time for the engine when started in a predetermined period through remote operation, and a restricting means for restricting the remote starting depending on the cumulative operating time measured by the measuring means.
