<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller capable of further reducing the manufacturing cost and improving the reliability of communication with respect to among the units to be controlled. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A control part 100 is configured to transmit data whose number is equal to the number of paper feed units 510 and 520, connected in a daisy-chain fashion to the first unit to be controlled, as data whose destination is the corresponding paper feed unit (the unit to be controlled). Furthermore, the control part 100 is configured to receive data transmitted from the unit to be controlled last, corresponding to the data transmission. In this case, the data transmission and the data reception are performed as one set. The data transmission is performed, in the manner in which the data transmission interval included in the one set is set as a predetermined period T1, and the data transmission interval between the last data transmission in the one set and the first data transmission in the following one set is set as a predetermined period T2 that differs from the predetermined period T1.
