<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin external preparation having excellent compatibility with the skin and high storage stability by using a simple technique. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The skin external preparation is obtained by mixing a higher alcohol liquid at a normal temperature and/or a higher fatty acid liquid at a normal temperature with a nonionic hydrophilic surfactant, a water-soluble dihydric alcohol and water to form a lamella liquid crystal phase and diluting the lamella liquid crystal with an aqueous solvent.
