The invention relates to the design, the topology and the manufacturing of integrated passive components in multilayer organic laminates that can be mounted on printed circuits for processing radiofrequency signals, and that clearly differ from the prior art (LTCC, inter alia) by their advantages in terms of performance, size, yield and reliability. Thanks to the present invention, balun filters, filters and multiplexers can be made according to standard methods in a laminated stripline structure that comprises 3 dielectric layers and 4 metal layers in which the dual mode resonators are made in the form of 2 interdigited transmission lines printed on 2 metal layers provided on either side of a central organic dielectric substrate enabling a strong transverse coupling. Therefore, due to the very strong coupling between the transmission lines, the resonators provide 2 resonance modes well spaced apart and the filter architectures resulting therefrom can be driven in a differential or asymmetrical manner without any space loss or performance degradation. The filters can be designed without vias or isolated members with impedance adaptations implemented by the received lines and with inter-resonator couplings based on electromagnetic field interactions, which improves their compactness.
|
