PURPOSE: A shock absorber for the furniture is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost and, at the same time, reducing the number of components and promoting the product standardization. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber(101) for the furniture comprises a piston assembly(150). The piston assembly is inserted into a cylinder and is fixed to a shaft(120) and a spring. The piston assembly comprises a shaft fixing cap(160), an O-ring(170) and a spring support cap(180). The shaft fixing cap comprises a tapered slope and the shaft is inserted and fixed to the shaft fixing cap. The O-ring is inserted into the slope of the shaft fixing cap. The spring support cap is inserted into the shaft fixing cap to be adjacent to the O-ring.
