<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade server system or the like that allows a maintenance person to easily check whether a blade server can be installed in a storage case, without having to check manually. <P>SOLUTION: The blade server system 1 includes a connection means 50 for enabling a storage case 10 and a blade server 20 to be interconnected for data communication while the blade server is not installed in server slots 2101-2124. The storage case includes an installation rule storage means 113 for recording installation rules 53-54 for use when the blade server is installed in the server slots, and an installation rule checking means 111 for determining according to the installation rules whether the blade server can be installed in the server slots, and returning the results of the decision to the blade server via the connection means.
