<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain downsizing of a battery pack incorporating one or more battery modules. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The battery pack includes battery modules each equipped with a plurality of battery cells electrically connected with each other to constitute a single complex battery and a case wrapping up the battery cells in bulk, and a retaining member for fixing and retaining the battery modules. Each case of the battery module includes a protrusion on a face with a middle-size area among rectangular outer faces, and the protrusion is formed elongated in a direction along the longest edge side of the rectangular contour so as a shape of the cross section crossing that direction to be nearly constant, and the shape of the cross section includes a site, as a width spread in a direction parallel with the face having the middle-size area of the case, with a larger width at a side farther away from the face with the middle-size area than at a nearer side, while, the retaining member includes recess parts corresponding to the protrusions of the battery modules.
