<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of making a car compact, and being made small entirely. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This device comprises right and left car doors 6, 7 for opening/closing an inlet/outlet 4, which projects to an outer left side of the car 5 by more than a half amount while a door is fully opened, and whose outer side is positioned almost in a car area or positioned in an area while a door is fully closed; right and left door support guide parts 8, 9 arranged on the upper side of the car 5 and having a lateral width almost identical to or shorter than the car 5; a left projecting portion 10 which is supported and guided to the left door support guiding part 8 movably laterally and whose one part projects to the left of the car 5 while the door is fully opened; and right and left door movement supports 12, 190 entirely positioned almost in the car 5 area while the door is fully closed, suspension supporting the left car door 6 on the left projecting portion 10 side by the supporting parts 11, 11 and guiding the lateral movement.
