NOVEL STRONGLY SALT-TOLERANT GENE NHXFS1 OF PLANT, ENCODING PROTEIN AND USES THEREOF

A strongly salt-tolerant gene NHXFS1 of plant, obtained by DNA recombinant technique, is provided. The nucleotide sequence of NHXFS1 is the sequence listed as SEQ ID NO:1 or the DNA sequence having 70-100% homology with the nucleotide sequence listed as SEQ ID NO:1, or the DNA sequence encoding the amino acid sequence listed as SEQ ID NO:2. The ion transport activity of Na+/H+ antiporter NHXFS1 encoded by the gene is higher than that of the wild type Na+/H+ antiporter AtNHX1, OsNHX1 or DmNHX1. Methods for constructing recombinant vectors and transgenic plants by using gene NHXFS1 and the encoding protein thereof, by which new transgenic plant species with enhanced salt-tolerance or other improved biological characteristics can be cultivated, are provided.
